Ingredients

  • 4 (4 1 ounces each) filets of tilapia
  • Salt and pepper according to your preference
  • 2 tablespoons of canola oil
  • 1 cup of salted black beans (tausi) Rinsed and drain
  • 2 teaspoons of chilli garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of soy sauce 1 teaspoon of soy
  • 1/2 cup of water

Instructions

  • Clean tilapia, then pat dry. Sprinkle lightly with pepper and salt.
  • In a pan over medium-high heat, cook oil. Add tilapia to the pan and cook for one to two minutes per side or until it is nicely seared but not cooked completely.
  • In a lightly coated baking dish, lay out the fish in one layer.
  • In a saucepan, combine black beans, chilli garlic sauce, soy sauce, and water. Bring to an unbeatable boil, while stirring continuously. Pour mixture over tilapia.
  • Bake covered in foil at the temperature of 375 F oven for 10-15 minutes or until the fish can be easily broken using a fork, and the sauce has reduced. Serve hot.
